Join Community Home Repair and the City of Tucson Mayor's Office in working to promote cool breezes for all this summer. CHRPA, community partners, and local sponsors and volunteers are working together to service and repair swamp coolers across Pima County.
SPONSOR A REPAIR
Steady funding makes it possible to complete repairs for the hundreds of individuals and families who make requests each summer. Keep Tucson cool and sponsor a repair: send CHRPA a check or donate via PayPal or credit/debit card by clicking on the button below. Your contribution will be sent out into the field in the form of tools, cooler repair parts, and clean new pads to keep Tucson’s community cool.
DONATE MATERIALS
Heading to the hardware store to pick up a pump for your own cooler? Buy two, and donate one to help a person in need. Look for donation collection boxes at participating hardware stores around Tucson. Want to make a bigger impact? Buy a pallet of cooler motors and we’ll come pick them up in the Be Cool, Tucson Truck.

Your company or agency can become a Be Cool, Tucson community partner, recognized in our media coverage and end-of-summer celebration as a major supporter of this important work. Be Cool, Tucson services offered include:
- removing old cooler pads and installing new pad material,
- stopping water loss from leaky coolers,
- replacing cooler motors, pumps, bearings, and floats,
- tightening belts and pulleys.
Who is eligible for Be Cool repairs?
Individuals or families whose income is below 50% Area Median Income ($23,000/year for a household of two), who live in a house or mobile home which they own. Priority given to elders, disabled people, and households with children. All repairs are free to qualifying homeowners.

Cooler repair requires climbing ladders and spending time in the sun, but no previous repair experience is required!
