Eligibility guidelines:
All of our programs are designed to assist low-income homeowners with urgently needed assistance, with an eye towards helping people live safely and affordably in their own homes. All applicants must meet low income guidelines, be the owner of the home, and fill out an application for the program. We require verification of income in the form of Social Security award letters, pay stubs, direct-deposit bank statements, etc. We are happy to help applicants fill out the application and navigate the paperwork. All of our programs are grant-funded, and we do not charge for our services. We do encourage our clients to contribute what they are able, in order to accomplish the work. This may be in the form of purchasing materials, assisting with labor, or various inputs from other friends or family members. We are a non-profit agency, and are looking for ways to stretch our resources to deliver as much service as possible to the community with limited funds. We require that people live in the home for a minimum of one year before they are eligible for assistance. We do not assist with any type of remodel projects or additions. Neither do we paint, replace floor coverings (tile, carpet, linoleum, etc.) or "update" components by virtue of their age. We do not do weatherization work such as insulating, caulking, or weatherstripping. Rental property, including "rent-to-own" is not elibigle for any of these programs. Programs: Minor emergency home repairs — Tucson and Pima County This program provides for repairs such as roof repair, heating and cooling repairs and replacements, gas, water and drain plumbing, electrical repairs, doors and windows, and water heaters. St. on the South, A-Mountain and Silverbell on the West and Euclid and 2nd. Ave on the East. This program is administered by the Tucson Housing Rehab Collaborative, and is designed to provide home repair assistance for low-income homeowners who live in this specific portion of town. The scope of work includes all of the repairs referred to in CHRPA's other programs described above. Funding is not necessarily available throughout the year, but interested persons may call CHRPA for more information.
